Virtualization Architect

Endeavour Recruitment have an excellent opportunity for a Virtualization Architect to join our leading European client on a contract basis.

About the Role
As a Virtualization Architect, you will be at the forefront of designing advanced, multi-vendor solutions and refining current systems to meet diverse business needs. Your work will include close collaboration with customers to define project scopes, understand requirements, design solutions, and document architectures with precision. You will also work with operational teams to transition and automate infrastructure, aiming to enhance efficiency. In addition, you will provide level 3 support and ensure continuous availability, confidentiality, and resilience of services.

Key Responsibilities
1. Analyze and Design Solutions: Create detailed current and future state architecture documents covering platforms, technologies, and integrations. Develop solutions within VMware products tailored to customer needs.
2. Collaborate and Communicate: Work with customers to comprehend business requirements and clearly communicate technical solutions to stakeholders.
3. Documentation and Handover: Produce architecture documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Facilitate a smooth transition and handover of infrastructure to operational teams, ensuring knowledge transfer.
4. Level 3 Support and Knowledge Sharing: Act as a Level 3 escalation point for operational support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Coach operational teams, promoting skill development and collaboration.

Professional Skills
Analytical Skills:
Proven ability to create thorough architecture documents detailing technologies, integrations, and communication methods.
Communication Skills:
Capable of explaining complex technical concepts to diverse audiences clearly and effectively.

Technical Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (eg, vSphere, vCenter, VSAN, NSXT, VMware Aria Operations).
• Familiarity with VMware Aria Automation and production environment support.
• ITIL and project management experience are advantageous.
• Network configuration and troubleshooting skills.
• PKS (Pivotal Container Service) knowledge is a plus.

Commitment to Automation and Efficiency:
A demonstrated focus on automation in system design and management.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in IT architecture within medium-to-large environments.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in virtualization technologies.
• Language: Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Citizenship: EU citizenship is required.
