VP, Sales (Investor)
Posted 2 days 7 hours ago by The Upright Project
Upright is seeking an accomplished, hands-on VP of Sales with a proven history of driving high-growth B2B sales to actively contribute to Upright's investor business, shaping and executing our global expansion strategy. Trusted by 250+ institutional investment organizations and corporations, Upright's impact data is rapidly gaining importance across Europe and North America due to regulatory shifts and rising demand for transparency in measuring real-world investment impacts.
As a hands-on sales leader, you will fully own the investor segment sales, blending strategic vision with direct execution to drive substantial annual recurring revenue (ARR). You will engage in strategic relationship-building and high-stakes sales efforts with institutional investors globally to achieve these goals. As the driving force behind our sales strategy, you'll actively participate in identifying and closing new business opportunities through leading key sales engagements yourself while supporting the overall team performance. Your focus will be on actively pursuing deals with key financial institutions, refining our value proposition, and ensuring Upright's offerings resonate with investors globally.
This role is ideal for a strategic, deal-driven professional with the tenacity and passion to fuel tangible growth through direct sales while advancing the field of sustainable finance.
SIGNS OF BEING A GREAT MATCH FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDE:
- Extensive experience and a proven track record in B2B sales, including both strategic leadership and hands-on execution.
- Experience or a strong interest in the financial sector, particularly asset management paired with a curiosity in how sustainability data can shape the future of finance.
- Relentless drive to pursue growth, expand Upright's investor customer base, and deliver outstanding results through proactive sales execution.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a talent for building high-trust relationships with C-suite executives and key decision-makers.
- Goal-oriented, with a sense of urgency and a determined, results-driven approach.
- Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Previous experience in sustainable finance, including knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g., SFDR) and ESG investing.
- Sales experience with B2B SaaS or data products, especially within financial or institutional sectors.
- Opportunity to influence your earnings with a performance-based compensation model, along with stock options, and a comprehensive healthcare package.
- A chance to join a quickly growing and highly ambitious impact SaaS company with a mission that matters.
- A fast-paced and dynamic work environment where decisions are made quickly, and progress happens rapidly.
- An opportunity to shape the future of sustainable finance by driving the adoption of a leading impact data solution, making a direct impact on Upright's growth and success, and applying your skills and experience in meaningful, innovative ways.
- A fun and kind team with exceptional people who care about what they do.
- Exciting professional growth opportunities.
MISSION THAT MATTERS
Upright is on a mission to incentivize companies to optimize their net impact by enabling science-based decision-making for investors, customers, employees, and public sector agents. To do that, Upright develops a proprietary data model based on an open-access database of 200M+ scientific articles and artificial intelligence to quantify the net impact of companies on people, planet, society, and knowledge creation. In addition to net impact, Upright produces data on UN SDG alignment, EU taxonomy, and EU SFDR PAI indicators.
Currently, our largest customer segment comprises investors, with a significant portion originating from the Asset Management (AM) and Private Equity (PE) sectors. We specialize in assisting our investor customers in quantifying, tracking, and reporting the impact of their investments. Upright's impact data engine offers investors clarity throughout the investment cycle, delivering science-based answers to the sustainability questions that really matter to investors and their stakeholders.
