Job Description

IDEX Consulting is looking for nearly or qualified Pensions Actuary Manager to join our clients new team.

You will be responsible for building a technical function across actuarial and investments as well as liaising with fund managers and supporting trustee directors.

Looking for candidates with a strong understanding of the UK pensions market and a desire to broaden knowledge beyond traditional actuarial roles, particularly in investment-related areas.

Key Requirements

  1. Work directly with clients to provide investment and actuarial support, assist in the production of reviews, and deliver tailored solutions.
  2. Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and improvement of technology platforms designed to enhance client engagement and decision-making processes.
  3. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to offer insights and recommendations on investment strategies, with a strong focus on transparency and effectiveness.
  4. Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including consultants, fund managers, and senior management, to ensure comprehensive support and alignment of client solutions.
  5. Stay abreast of developments in the UK pensions market and broader financial landscapes to inform and enhance client advice.
  6. Demonstrate a keen interest in exploring new topics, understanding complex issues, and developing innovative solutions in consultation with clients.

Desirable

  1. A desire to understand and learn coding languages such as Python and SQL. While existing knowledge is beneficial, a strong ambition to develop these skills is highly desirable.
  2. Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel, with the ability to leverage these tools for data analysis and reporting.
  3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strong attention to detail and support the development of asset liability models.
  4. Focuses on results through drive, raising the standards and ability to execute.
  5. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
  6. Highly motivated and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently.
  7. A natural curiosity and a proactive approach to learning new topics and investigating unknown areas to deliver client-focused solutions.
