Advanced Practitioner Radiographer - Breast

We are offering an exciting opportunity for Advanced Practitioner - Breast to join our team in a forward-thinking radiotherapy department at Velindre Cancer Service. Base site of Cardiff or Abergavenny to be negotiated.
Face to Face interviews only.
Main duties of the job- Providing information, support and point of contact throughout the pathway.
- Contributing to enhancing service delivery and service development for a specified tumour site by implementing best and evidence-based practice across their specific area of the Breast radiotherapy pathway.
- Ensuring that the patient pathway is managed efficiently to ensure continuity of care, effective use of resources, and to achieve all cancer targets both locally and nationally.
- Being an effective team player in the tumour-specific multi-disciplinary team and being involved in the total care of patients undergoing Radiotherapy treatment.
- Providing specialist radiotherapy knowledge to the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and Network as required.
- Providing information and support to relatives and carers instrumental in the patient's ongoing care and holistic well-being.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification Qualifications and/or knowledge- B.Sc. (Hons) in Therapeutic Radiography or Diploma of College of Radiographers DCR (T)
- Registration with Health Professions Council
- Expert Practice MSc module or equivalent in specific area.
- Working at Masters level or equivalent
- Knowledge and understanding of principles and concepts underpinning applications and techniques used in radiotherapy.
- Knowledge and understanding of current oncology issues
- Full knowledge of radiation regulations
- Knowledge of clinical mark-up of breast radiotherapy
- Evidence of further study to Masters Level
- Consent MSc Module or equivalent.
- Leadership or management studies/qualification
- Knowledge and understanding of principles and concepts underpinning applications and techniques used in radiotherapy
- Sound practical ability
- Experience in consent in radiotherapy
- Experience in NMO
- Audit
- Quality assurance
- Experience in Plan Authorisation
- Experience in Non-Medical Prescribing for a relevant site
