POST: Clerk to Governors

LOCATION: Grange Park Primary School

WORKING PATTERN: 38 week contract. 3 hours paid per week and any additional hours over this to be approved by the Headteacher/Business Manager. Must be flexible to attend at least 6 evening meetings a year, ad hoc meetings during the day are sometimes required. Work outside meetings can be carried out flexibly and remotely to suit the postholder.

CONTRACT: Permanent

SALARY: Scale 2 NJC point 3 to point 4 - £12.45 - £12.65 per hour

DISCLOSURE LEVEL: Enhanced

START DATE: As soon as possible (subject to safer recruitment checks)

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic Clerk to Governors to join our happy, hardworking team at Grange Park.

The post holder will serve as the clerk to the governors, providing essential administrative support to the governing body. This role involves:

  1. Taking accurate minutes during meetings, ensuring that detailed notes of discussions and decisions are recorded.
  2. Preparing and distributing meeting agendas and papers ahead of time, facilitating smooth communication.
  3. Offering advice on governance matters, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
  4. Acting as the primary point of contact between the governors and other stakeholders, including staff, parents, and the public.
