Job Description
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to optimise efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage procurement operations and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate contracts and secure advantageous terms.
- Assess and manage supply risks and implement risk management strategies.
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Procurement to set departmental goals and objectives.
- Lead, coach and develop the procurement team to enhance their skills and performance.
- Monitor and report on procurement performance metrics.
- Stay informed of advancements in the Transport & Distribution industry to identify potential opportunities for company growth.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Deputy Head of Procurement should have:
- Experience in private and public sector would be beneficial.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the Transport & Distribution industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and legalities.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional negotiation skills and a commercial mindset
