Our client, an international company, well renowned in its industry, is currently searching for experienced Head of Corporate Legal. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the legal strategy, operations, and risk management across the corporate functions of the organization. This position requires deep expertise in corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, contract negotiations, and legal risk management, and acts as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team to safeguard the organization's interests.

Head of Corporate Legal (m/f/d) Acting as the new Head of Group for Corporate Legal & Regulatory Affairs, you will take over a senior leadership role. You will be responsible for overseeing the legal strategy, operations, and risk management across the corporate functions of the organization. Your position requires profound expertise in corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, contract negotiations, and legal risk management, since you will be a strategic partner to the executive leadership team which is safeguarding the organization's interests.
Legal Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the overall legal strategy for corporate functions and ensure alignment with the organization's business objectives
- Provide expert and strategic legal advice to the board, senior management, and business units on all corporate legal matters, including compliance, transactions, and regulatory affairs
- Lead the corporate legal team and promote a collaborative high-performance culture
Mergers, Acquisitions & Transactions
- Oversee legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures
- Collaborate with external legal counsels when necessary, and represent the organization efficiently and effectively
Regulatory Affairs
- Act as main point of contact for all regulatory parties on a group level
- Build and maintain successful relationships with regulatory bodies, external counsels, and other key stakeholders to protect the organization's legal and business interests
Contract Management
- Oversee the negotiations, drafts, and reviews of key corporate contracts and agreements, including service agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements
- Implement efficient contract management systems and processes across the organization
Risk Management
- Identify, assess, and manage legal risks associated with the company's business activities
- Work closely with the risk management team to ensure proactive legal risk management and mitigation strategies
- Lead investigations into significant legal issues and disputes, managing litigation, arbitration, or other dispute resolution processes when necessary
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of in-house corporate lawyers and legal professionals
- Manage sustainable relationships with external law firms, which ensure high-quality service and cost-effective solutions
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to internal business units who provides practical and actionable legal advice
- University degree in law / legal sciences
- Admission/license to practice law in relevant jurisdiction(s)
- Many years (10+) of legal experience with a focus on corporate legal matters, including extensive experience in a senior leadership role within a corporate environment
- Proven track record in corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, compliance, and industry-specific regulations
- Extensive experience in working with C-suite executives and board members
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and management skills for leading cross-functional teams
- An upright personality with distinct work ethics and sound judgment in complex legal matters and the ability to work in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
