Your Tasks

• Strategic direction and coordination of R&D program and international R&D projects in the field of new process technology aligned with R&D steering committee.
• Developing and implementing innovative technology in cooperation with operations with focus on energy efficiency, fuel switch, carbon footprint, carbon capture, and digitalization.
• Evaluating external developments with respect to applicability for our industry.
• Optimizing production processes with respect to production output, energy efficiency, environmental impact and product quality.
• Organizing and performing internal conferences and trainings.
• Lead and develop a team of central (solid line) and local R&D/project managers (dotted line) and process engineers.
• Responsible for budget for the department cost center.
• Ensure Health & Safety standards maintained in all aspects.

Your Profile

• Senior leader with academic engineering background, preferably in the field of process engineering, ceramics, mechanical or chemical engineering.
• Very good knowledge in the field of thermodynamics, thermal process engineering, heat pump technology, combustion technology, electrical heating of processes.
• At least 8-10 years of professional experience in the industry preferably in the field of ceramic building ceramics.
• Successful record of managerial responsibility (R&D and/or production).
• Experience to set up and implement international projects (R&D and investment projects).
• Abilities to lead a team of international senior experts.
• Knowledge in cooperation with research institutes, universities and funding bodies.
• Good convincing interpersonal skills and creativity.
• Good project and people management skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently.
• Very good command of German and English.
