As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantasticopportunity for a KS3 Maths Teacher to join our close-knit team atWetheringsett Manor School located in Suffolk.
About the role
To secure high quality teaching, effective useof resources and improve standards of learning and achievement forall pupils in consultation with theHeadteacher.
Inconsultation with the Head of School/Head of School undertake otheridentified areas of responsibility as necessary to ensure effectivedelivery of the school's curriculum.
To teach a range of subjects as necessary toensure the effective delivery of the school'scurriculum.
Knowledge and Understanding
The school's vision,aims, priorities, targets, curriculum policies and actionplans; Any statutory curriculumrequirements and the requirements for assessment, recording andreporting of pupils' attainment and progress;
The characteristics ofhigh-quality teaching and the main strategies for improving andsustaining high standards of teaching, learning and achievement forall pupils; Management, includingemployment law, equal opportunities legislation, personnel,external relations, finance and change;
The implications of the code ofpractice of special educational needs for teaching andlearning.
Specific Roles andResponsibilities
- To teach a variety of generalsubjects across the national curriculum to students aged between10- 14, but also to KS4 pupils onoccasion.- To be a form tutor for studentsto support them in their education.
To play a key role in the development of SENprovision within Wetheringsett Manor School.
To work with schools, parents, key agencies andthe young people with SEN to ensure effective and successfulinclusion of pupils including those with SEMH within WetheringsettManor School.
To supportthe development of learning styles and appropriate teachingapproaches, behaviour management, classroom strategies, resourcesand whole school policies for pupils with complex needs and diagnoses within Wetheringsett ManorSchool.
To work with theschools therapy team and build strong curriculum based on the needsof the students.
To enableaccess to learning and social opportunities for pupils with SENthrough the delivery of teaching, support, families and the youngperson.
Aboutthe School
Wetheringsett Manor Schoolis a new independent day SEMH School for up to 42 pupils aged11-18. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successfuloutcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubledview of education and life.
Wetheringsett ManorSchool has gone through significant refurbishment and is based inSuffolk, East Anglia and opened to pupils in November 2020. TheManor House is located in 17 acres of parkland with woodedboundaries and sits on the edge of the village of Wetheringsett.The accommodation also provides several other buildings including aconverted stable block, a cottage and two industrialunits.
We pride ourselves in steering pupils inthe right direction, nurturing aspiration to progress them bothacademically and socially to encourage them to take pride in theirachievements. Socially, we build confidence in our students, so theyare able to have a greater understanding of the wider community inwhich they live.
