Job Description

On behalf of HM Land Registry we are looking for a Microsoft Security Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. Hybrid working based in any HMLR office.

This role is to undertake work on a cyber security project which has a range of objectives and deliverables. These include the implementation of modern auth with Windows Hello for business, mobile device security enhancements and a new IDAM solution. The IDAM solution is extensive and includes activities to integrate mainframe, windows, Linux and cloud platforms to a single identity service (Entra). The role will include designing, changing, maintaining and supporting new and existing IT Security systems, delivering the changes stated within the objectives of the cyber security project and providing expertise and knowledge to help achieve outcomes.


As a Microsoft Security Engineer your main responsibilities will be to:

* Manage HM Land Registry's security software and its operation, based upon the RACF and Microsoft Windows Active Directory core elements and monitor its day-to-day operation.
* Maintain security user, group and resource profiles within Information Systems, Head Office and Local Offices, and provide security support and advice for such users.
* Support all delegated security administration; act as a focal point for HMLR Security Administrators, Managers and Local System Administrators, and provide advice and guidance on technical matters.
* Maintain software to support and enhance the security operation.
* Maintain procedures for access definition recovery, including disaster procedures.


Essential:

* An active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this position.
* Experience of Microsoft Entra including federation, conditional access and enterprise application configuration.
* Experience of implementing and managing Windows Hello for Business including the use of multi factors for registration.
* Experience of Windows MFA methods and their implementation and management including integration with single sign on technologies.
* Experience of Intune, autopilot, Azure and Office 365 cloud platforms.
* Experience of Windows server and AD.
* Experience of Entra ID protection, cloud auth.
* Experience of Entra integration with non-windows platforms such as Linux and AWS.
* Experience of design and implementation of RBAC and privilege management in an Entra implementation.
