Job Description

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

The AWS Partner Network (APN) is the global community of Partners, from Systems Integrators to ISVs, who leverage Amazon Web Services to build solutions and services for customers. AWS helps Partners build, market, and sell their AWS offerings by providing valuable business, technical, and marketing support. There are tens of thousands of AWS Partners across the globe. More than 90% of Fortune 100 companies and the majority of Fortune 500 companies use AWS Partner solutions and services. AWS Partners are uniquely positioned to help businesses take full advantage of all that AWS has to offer and accelerate their journey to the cloud.

In this technical role, you will help AWS partners architect enterprise-grade solutions, own the technical relationship and deliverables with partners, develop and execute multi-day workshops, lead whiteboarding sessions, author white papers and blog posts, and respond to complex technical inquiries. If you are a problem solver with broad technical skills and have the ability to drive technical conversations, you will enjoy this role.

As a Partner Solution Architect focused on AWS partners, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of the AWS platform across the partner community. Working with Partners is a team effort that will require influence and coordination with many stakeholders; you will have ownership of the technical relationship with partners, making recommendations on partner solutions that best fit customer requirements for security, cost, performance, reliability, operational efficiency, and best-practice architectures.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Serve as a key technical member of the Solutions Architecture team in helping to enable partners and ensure partner success in building partner practice, capabilities, and solutions on the AWS platform.
  2. Design customer solutions with partners using AWS services.
  3. Scope each partner engagement, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria.
  4. Own each technical enablement and engagement, and help ensure a timely and successful delivery of value (delivery of actual solutions to be done by AWS partners).
  5. Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the solution architect community.
  6. Evangelize AWS services to share best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, white papers, and reference architectures, as well as public-speaking events such as AWS Summits, AWS re:Invent, etc.
  7. Understand the AWS market segments, customer base, and industry verticals.
  8. Coach and enable partners on an ongoing basis to adopt AWS innovations.
  9. Assist partners in pursuits and enable them to win the business independently.
