Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Religious Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore various religious traditions, ethical systems, and philosophical ideas, promoting a deeper understanding of the world and their place within it.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching:
    Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking RE lessons to students across different age groups, using a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Curriculum Development:
    Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the RE curriculum, ensuring it is inclusive, comprehensive, and aligned with educational standards.
  • Student Engagement:
    Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages open dialogue, critical thinking, and mutual respect.
  • Assessment:
    Design and implement assessments to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic and personal growth.
  • Extracurricular Activities:
    Organise and participate in RE-related extracurricular activities, such as interfaith dialogues, community service projects, and educational trips.
  • Professional Development:
    Stay current with developments in religious education and pedagogy. Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the continuous improvement of the department.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience:
    Minimum of X years of teaching experience, with a strong background in religious education.
  • Communication Skills:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Cultural Competence:
    Deep understanding of and respect for diverse religious traditions and cultural perspectives.
  • Passion for Education:
    Genuine enthusiasm for teaching and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
