Job Description

Salaried GP's specialising in care for people with substance misuse and men and women in prison and detained settings

Spectrum CIC are looking for passionate, enthusiastic, values-driven people to join our existing team of experienced GPs. We are open to people working part time or full time, face to face.

All of our posts attract all of the benefits of NHS employment including NHS pension and time served enhancements. We warmly welcome those who may have retired and are thinking about returning into a new challenge.

Our doctors are committed to delivering better health outcomes, tackling health inequalities, and working with some of the most marginalized patients in the country.

Please note the welcome payment is payable to new candidates joining Spectrum Community Health CIC.

There is also an opportunity to access a relocation package of up to £8,000.

We aim to be flexible in matching your availability with our work patterns and the needs of the service, and therefore we are also able to offer part time and flexible working options.

Main duties of the job

Prison healthcare

GPs play a crucial clinical leadership role in our prison primary healthcare teams. Previous experience of working in a jail, whilst desirable, is not essential as full induction and training will be provided. There is round the clock access to experienced clinical supervision for new doctors who join our teams.

Our GPs tell us that personal and professional attributes of compassion, empathy, fairness, and multidisciplinary working, alongside a desire to deliver the highest quality and innovative care, are the cornerstones of a successful working model.

Line managed and supported by a Regional Lead GP, you will have access to continuing professional development in support of appraisal and revalidation through our GP forum. As a senior leader, you will have access to a full induction and a range of ongoing professional support, coaching, and development opportunities including Spectrum's own ILM accredited leadership and management programme.

Substance Misuse

You may already have a special interest in substance misuse; if not, we will invest in you to help you attain the expertise and confidence, backed up by national accreditation to deliver a substance misuse extended role.

Alternatively, you may have an interest in research or in medical education where we can link you to opportunities through our Research and medical education departments.
