Scrum Master (Part Time)

Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Scrum Master for a 6 Month Part Time (3-4 days per week) contract based in London (Office attendance as and when required).

Purpose of the Role:

• We are seeking a motivated and experienced Scrum Master to work on a project team which is focused on a website migration. The ideal individual will play a crucial role in establishing foundational ways of working, supporting the onboarding of new hires, and guiding the team through Agile methodologies to ensure smooth and efficient project execution. You'll work closely with a cross-functional team of designers, content creators, and digital leads, helping them maximise their potential and continuously improve their processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scrum Facilitation & Team Guidance:

  • Act as the Scrum process owner, guiding the team through Scrum events, including daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Empower the team to become high-performing and self-organising by encouraging collaboration and accountability.
  • Remove impediments and blockers to ensure progress, including managing any issues with tooling.
  • Foster a transparent, safe, and trusting environment where the team feels empowered to raise challenges and share information freely.

• Project & Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to manage and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring it is well-groomed and ready for upcoming sprints.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for the project's stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the project's vision and goals.
  • Facilitate effective communication and transparency within the team and between stakeholders, encouraging feedback loops.

• Re-platforming & Tooling Support:

  • Assist the team in the website migration, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal customer experience.
  • Set up and configure project management and collaboration tools (eg, Jira, Confluence, Figma) to enable smooth workflows.
  • Lead efforts to unblock any tooling challenges faced by the team during the migration process.

Skills & Experience:

• Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent) with proven experience in leading Agile teams.
• Strong understanding of the Agile Manifesto and principles, with a focus on continuous improvement and leadership.
• Experience in facilitating Scrum events and guiding teams through successful Scrum adoption.
• Demonstrated ability to coach teams on Agile methodologies and foster a high-performing, self-organising culture.
• Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, Figma, or similar tools to support the team's workflow.
• Experience with digital transformation projects, especially website re-platforming and customer experience optimisation, is a plus.
