Job Description

This role is located in Liverpool / Manchester (preferred) or any other locations within the hub structure of our global IT organization.

As a Senior Technical Architect, you are responsible for managing, creating, iterating, and maintaining technical and data architectures. You will be accountable for driving a high-quality technical system design and development which supports system performance at optimal operational cost under the circumstances of flexibility and future change. In this role, you will work with product owners, product architects, and development leads to ensure that the platform vision and roadmap is implemented with a state-of-the-art and easily accessible technology stack. Moreover, you will evaluate and adopt new technologies and tooling which can deliver a competitive advantage of our digital platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Provide and support the foundation for the Informatica Platform within Azure and on-premise data center.
  • Develop the cloud data integration capability and lead the way as Solution Architect to a multi-cloud based architecture.
  • Implement and enforce security & compliance controls within the Informatica platform.
  • Support and consult projects to make use of the data management platform in a standardized way.
  • Partner with data solution architects and data engineers to ensure that projects are delivered at or under budget and follow all compliance, regulatory, and data standards/guidelines for Informatica usage.
  • Partner with technical teams across both the GSI Data Team and other peer organizations to ensure that solutions are aligned to the business needs and follow enterprise standards and guidelines.
  • Support the strategic direction of technology investments to assist in the development of the enterprise architecture and maximize the return on technology investment.
  • Oversee all platform architecture related aspects with the ability to define/adjust/rightsize solutions and standards of the Data Management COE.
  • Identify & implement opportunities to further automate processes to operate the Informatica platform efficiently.
  • Guide and supervise the platform operations team to provide operations based on agreed SLAs.
  • Manage all architectural activities that lead to the successful implementation of new capabilities.
  • Deliver proof-of-concepts, pilot solutions, and applications through hands-on guidance, development, and expertise.
  • Deliver the product life cycle for digital solutions, i.e., design, implementation, deployment, evergreening.
  • Engage and influence key stakeholders in the global Munich Re communities like the CTO, enterprise architecture, and leads of digitalization initiatives.
  • Lead the technical discussion with external providers of services where needed.
Your Profile
  • University degree preferably in Computer Engineering / IT or similar qualification.
  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: data architecture, data integration, master data management, or data governance.
  • Senior technical IT experience as IT architect, solutions architect, or development manager.
  • Deep knowledge in cloud/service-based architecture based on Azure Technologies (compute/storage/security/monitoring/logging/automation).
  • Experience in one or more Informatica products (Informatica Cloud Services, MDM/RDM, Mass Ingestion and concurrency, Power Center, Data Engineering, Enterprise Data Catalog, Axon) or similar industry solutions.
  • Experience in cloud data technologies such as Azure data ecosystem (Data Lake, Databricks, Synapse, SQL-Server, Oracle).
  • Experience in cloud modernization & transformation programs and work on hybrid cloud.
  • Deep knowledge of processes and capabilities required to run a global and distributed platform in a multi-product environment.
  • Track record of successful data architecture implementations that delivered value to the business, resulting in measurable business outcomes.
  • Ideally, knowledge of business processes in the re-/insurance industry.
  • Consulting and strong collaborative working style creating a culture of accountability and sharing.
  • A high degree of commitment and the willingness and ability to master a broad spectrum of tasks.
  • Ability to manage and supervise medium to big-sized development & operations teams on a global scale.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to deal with senior leaders, stakeholders, and executives and to build and nurture business relationships.
  • Willing to experiment, challenge the status quo, and ensure that our technology stack remains innovative for its customers.
  • Experience working with teams in multiple locations and time zones.
  • Ability to present complex situations to peers and stakeholders in a clear and precise way.
  • Demonstrated willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required in execution of duties.
