Job Description

We are excited to offer an outstanding opportunity for a highly skilled Ophthalmology Specialist to join at friendly and dynamic team. If you are passionate about providing exceptional veterinary care and enjoy working in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you!

Their multi-disciplinary clinical team includes two ECVO specialists and an ophthalmology intern, working alongside a world-class support team. This role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge facilities, including a newly redeveloped on-site imaging suite (64 slice CT and 1.5T MRI), a fully equipped ophthalmology surgical suite, and two dedicated ophthalmology consulting rooms. You'll also benefit from working closely with their expert colleagues in Anaesthesia, Imaging, Internal Medicine, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ophthalmology Case Management: Manage a wide variety of complex and interesting ophthalmology cases.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work alongside specialists in all disciplines of a multidisciplinary referral practice, including imaging, internal medicine, anaesthesia, and more.
  • Surgical and Non-Surgical Procedures: Conduct ophthalmic surgeries and non-surgical procedures with support from our experienced surgical and nursing teams.
  • Clinical Support: Receive support from our team of highly skilled nurses, technicians, and clinical staff to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
  • Client Communication: Provide clear and empathetic communication to pet owners, explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and procedures

The ideal candidate will be passionate about ophthalmology and have extensive experience in managing complex ophthalmology cases. You should be personable, with a good sense of humour, and enjoy working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

To be considered, you should:

  • Hold an ECVO or ACVO Diploma, or be eligible to sit for the Diploma examination after completing an approved residency programme.
  • Be a member of, or eligible for membership with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
